We hold an online community meeting on the first Monday of every month, except on holidays when we delay a week. Our next meeting will be on Monday June 2, 2025 6:30pm-8pm via Zoom.
The Gilman Square Neighborhood Council (GSNC) is an officially recognized neighborhood council within the City of Somerville, MA, and a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Winter Hill Station at Gilman Square, approximate date 1900-1910.
What do we do?
The mission of the Gilman Square Neighborhood Council is to provide a forum for the people of Gilman Square to connect as a community, share neighborhood news, and advocate for our common values to make Gilman Square the best place in the world to live, work and play. Beyond our monthly community meeting, we regularly meet with city staff, negotiate community benefits agreements with private developers, and host the annual Gilman Square Arts and Music Festival!
How do I join?
The GSNC hosts monthly meetings and community forums that are open to all. However, voting is reserved for residents, property owners, business owners, employees, or volunteers operating within our boundaries of Oxford Street, Central Street, McGrath Highway, and Broadway. Somerville is lucky to have many engaged citizens and we are always open to new members!
